Since June 2012, Lincoln Hall has worked closely with the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to provide shelter level care for unaccompanied male minors, age 12-through-17 years of age. Carefully incorporating child welfare values as well as the principles and provisions established by the Flores Agreement in 1997, Lincoln Hall has striven to provide a safe and educational shelter setting for minors. From its beginning the goal of the Family Reunification Program (FRP) has been to release each minor to a parent, family member or other sponsor already residing in the United States in an efficient, timely manner following a thorough vetting process for all concerned.

Minors are provided with a comfortable living environment, weather-appropriate clothing, and nutritionally sound meals while temporarily being in residence at Lincoln Hall. In addition, they receive trauma-informed clinical counseling and casework management. Minors have a well-rounded educational program, including assessment and acculturation. A variety of activities are also included in the program, including athletics, vocational learning and other forms of recreation. Off campus trips are regularly scheduled to expose minors to museums, historical sites, sporting venues, and performing arts. Following the guidance of ORR, Lincoln Hall takes into consideration the unique nature of each child’s situation and incorporates child welfare principles when making clinical, case management, and release decisions that are in the best interest of each child in its care.
